Welcome to the Warren Public Library

Summer news from the Library

Summer has gotten off to a bit of a slow start weather wise. At the library we are well into our summer program celebrating "Every Hero has a Story", discovering who heros are and that they come in all shapes and sizes. Please check our upcoming events to attend and celebrate heros.(Ages 6 - 14)

Be sure to sign your children ages 6 - 14 up for the popular summer reading incentive program. The prizes this summer range from tickets to Lake Compounce to an IPod radio...and lots of fun stuff in between. Forms may be picked up at the library. The final drawing is in August. Drawing for the Lake Compounce tickets will be in late July. Any reading done will apply to the Connecticut Governor's Reading Challenge.

Meanwhile summer abounds at the library and the beach!

At the library we are doing our $5.00 a bag book sale. Give us $5.00 and we will give you a bag to fill from our Bookcellar. We have an abundance of great books for every type of summer reading.

Speaking of summer reading - this year we have a "Beach Reads" box down at the beach. Pick up something to peruse, or take home to read then keep it, pass it on or return it. The material will be refreshed every week. Compliments of the library.

Story hour will also be at the beach on Fridays at 10 AM through the beginning of August.

Meanwhile, don't forget if you want to get out of town we have a nice selection of museum and park passes.

And if you would rather do it all online please check out Overdrive for ebooks and audio books and Newsbank for news of the world, the USA and the Republican American.

Have a great summer...it is always cool in the library.
