Night Watchers: Phases of the Moon Our Night Watchers Series will be led by local astronomy enthusiast, James Newton. During our meetings children and adults will have an opportunity to learn about various astronomy topics, ask questions, make crafts, and conclude the evening under the stars using a real telescope. Hot chocolate will be provided. Registration Suggested. Our January 9th meeting will explore phases of the moon. Fingers crossed for clear skies and some amazing telescope viewing!

Night Watchers: Visit a Real Observatory! During our final Night Watchers meeting we will meet at The John J. McCarthy Observatory in New Milford, CT (located behind New Milford High School). During our visit we will have an opportunity to view space through their high powered 16″ Meade Schmidt Cassegrain telescope. This telescope has been used to discover asteroids and observe hundreds of potentially hazard space objects. REGISTRATION WILL BE REQUIRED, if we do not have enough attendees we will have to cancel. ABOUT THE SERIES Our Night Watchers Series will be led by local astronomy enthusiast, James Newton. During our meetings children and adults will have an opportunity to learn about various astronomy topics, ask questions, make crafts, and conclude the evening under the stars using a real telescope.
